I read 'If I Stay' by Gayle Forman after seeing a blog that recommended it. I wasn't prepared to love another character.
Adam was the emocore boyfriend that Mia didn't expect to have. He loved her and embraced all of her.
He was a rising rock star in the first book (If I Stay).
The first book was Mia's persona talking and still I loved Adam as I heard him through her voice.
I put off reading the second book because I wasn't ready. A part of me felt that this book will give me lingering feelings when I'll be done with it.
I wanted to hear Adam, he alone.
The second book, 'Where She Went' was Adam's and how his life picked up.
With every word that I read, it felt like I could hear his breath on my spine. I could almost hear his pleas, the raspiness in his voice, his songs.
I'm happy with how Where She Went ended. But I felt for Adam. Was that night enough for him to be vindicated? Were the answers that forceful to have woken him from slumber?
It felt too quick for me.
But again, I'm happy. I'm glad for Adam to have had what he didn't expect to have.
Above all, I'm glad because I met and loved Adam. ❤️
